I had read a great blog post over at Carolyn In Carolina about swinging, tree climbing, and Hawaiian punch. I won’t say much more about it….just go read it! Anywho I left a comment about one of the silly kid things I used to do as a kid and she wasn’t familiar with this one, so I thought why not blog about a bunch of the silly things we did as kids.

1. Hertz Donut? –  If you’re not familiar with this one this is where you ask someone “Hertz Donut?”. If they said “huh?’ or “what?” you stomped on their foot as hard as you could and said “Hurts Dont It?” Get it?? HAHAHAHA oh how silly I was. If you attempt this on a bully or someone twice your size, be prepared to run. Just saying.

2. Dead Hands – You would take your hand and put it up against someone else’s hand that mirrored yours. You would then rub two fingers with your other hand, as in one of your fingers and the mirroring finger of your partner. This was supposed to show you what touching a dead hand would be like. You’re wanting to test this one out, aren’t you?

3. Running through the woods – this was a popular one to do with someone who was drunk or extremely stoned. I like doing this one with my kids cause they laugh like maniacs. Grab a partner and they stand before you. You take a hand on either side of their head and move them back in forth in opposite directions, your hands should be around their peripheral. You start out slow and say “You are walking through the woods”. Do this for a few seconds and then pick up the pace a bit and say “You are jogging through the woods”. Then you go a bit faster and say “You are running through the woods”. Then you go even faster, really really fast and say “You are booking through the woods!” (please tell me you all know what “booking” is). You then after a few seconds take your writing hand and with the palm slap them on the forehead and announce “Oops hit a tree!”

4. Bediddle – Mr.P and I argue what this is really called but this is what I always called it as a kid. Whenever we were on a road trip at night (no matter how far away) and kept an eye out for cars with one headlight. First one to slap the roof of the car and yelled “Bediddle” won. This usually upsets your parents something awful and you endure a two hour lecture on how “one day I will have an accident because of you”.

5. Punch Buggy – another favorite car game and I am sure you all know this one! In the car, whomever saw a volkswagen beetle first had to punch the person closest to them and yell “Punch Buggy”. This was fun until my dad started playing.

That’s all I can remember of the silly games for now. If I think of more I will add to it. In the meantime, leave a comment on your favorite silly game. Better yet, blog about it!
