Ya know, if you knew another childless couple you could split a veggie box with them. Our friends that we are giving some of the stuff too have made that offer. We declined this time but told them if they wanted, we could do it in the future.

Food prices are just outrageous and I am thankful for a friend giving me the link, especially in our current financial situation.

I never tried these but when I worked in FLorida at a homeless shelter, we always made sure to have info about the program. It helped a lot of people and even some of our staff used the program. THe veggie box sounds like a good deal for $22. Nowadays food has gotten so expensive and ecery little bit helps. There are only 2 of us so I know if we used the program, some food would definitely go to waste. But if I had kids, I would consider it for sure.

I don’t know how to get that information as of yet. My guess is that the food is donated and more than likely it’s not hormone free. The veggies appear to be from local farmers, with the exception of the grapefruit, oranges, and celery, everything came from my state. And they don’t appear to be organic in nature. I would love to find something like this that offered all hormone free and organic foods but no such luck as of yet.

Is there any way to find out information about the food itself, like if the meat was raised hormone free, etc. And same with the veggies? I have been considering this as well since my family of 6 is on a strict budget

Yea, I do wish they had an organic deal. Organics here are twice as much as regular food so we rarely can buy it.

BTW, is it bad this wasn’t supposed to be published til tomorrow?? LOL! OOPS!
