I think it’s due to my lack of sleep last night. I woke up at 2 am andcouldn’t go back to sleep. BLAH!
Anywho, we got an email from Swiss Colony that 4 of the items we ordered aren’t available anymore. Fortunatley we have a backup plan for 3 of them.Not sure what we are going to do for the 4th person. GR! Here I thought things would go smoothly.
Yesterday the girls started knitting again.
Hopefully they stick with it this time. It was nice just sitting and knitting with them last night. I found it interesting that Claire has picked up the basic knit stitch much quicker than Molly. They are at different intellectual levels. Wait, that sounds like one isn’t as smart as the other. It isn’t so much that as they are equally smart but just in differing ways. Once the kids were in bed I had joked with hubs that perhaps Molly needed a more difficult method to understand it. Don’t ask me why but that is just how she thinks. When she explains math or science to me from school and I mention a simpler way to think it, she gets angry and says it doesn’t make sense. There was a recent argument over doing long division. I kicked out the old school method and she says they use it sometimes at school but she doesn’t get it. How she does it looks more long, drawn out, and difficult. At various parent/teacher conferences, her teacher has told me she is the same at school. At least it’s not me!
Anyway, I plan on trying to encourage them to keep it up. We battle alot of how long to spend on the computer. Since I have picked the needles back up I am not online as much. And now with some commissioned work and projects for each month, I won’t have time for online stuff in the evenings. Speaking of which, I found a site that is going to run a “can along” for all of 2010. Each month a different type of food is showcased and everyone uses a recipe with that food to can. I signed up to participate and I am thrilled! I really cannot wait for that to start next month. I had told Mr. P I wanted to start canning at least once a month so that I can understand it better and try to find new things to make. Looks like the perfect setup to me!
