Going To Brag
I have to brag, cause perhaps the genes came from me???
My ten year old is being nominated to attend a week of classes in the summer at Wake Forest University!!! Teachers receive invitations from a program with the school (forgive me, I forget which program and I am too lazy to find the paperwork at the moment) and her teacher put her on the list along with another child. The program puts the kids in the dormitories, feeds them, 24 hr supervision, classes of various kinds (they even have a CSI Investigative class!), and I am really proud.
Now for the scary part. It costs $2000. I do not have $200 let alone $2000. There is a way to get a scholarship and we are working towards that right now. I am really hoping they give it to us.
Molly’s reaction, her very first reaction was “Oh cool mom, another roadtrip for us!” In March we are taking a class trip across NC and I promised her I would go with them. However, I had to inform her the only roadtrip for me was to drive her to Wake Forest. Poor thing is scared now. She won’t say she won’t go, but she is scared to death of being away for 6 days without me (not trying to pull rank or anything but her whole convo with me and seperatley with her daddy was she wanted me to be there). I think she will be ok once she is there. And I promised her I would go ahead and activate my old phone for her so she can call us anytime. That part thrilled her lol.
It is this moment that I am ok that I never took the internship with NSA. I gave birth to some really smart kids and the oldest has paved the way on having endless possibilities thrown at her. I will do anything it takes to make these things happen so she can be successful. The same of course goes for the other two. The middle child is just now getting into the gifted program and I imagine she will have her share of awesome opps coming her way as well.
Ok, end of bragging. Nice change of pace for this blog though!

I totally forgot today was Wednesday (aka Witchy Wednesday). I will pick that back up next week. Might spend this weekend doing some prewriting so I can keep my head on straight!
