Ever feel that way? I know it’s the norm for me at this time of year but really it applies to all year long since I tend to be OCD about having free time. I honestly don’t know what I would do without my phone. I don’t just make calls (actually I rarely do), it’s my PDA and link to the online world. I used to scoff at people when iPhone first came out. I thought, how could being plugged in be a benefit. Since getting my Droid I have come to see how useful it is. Of course one MUST have unplugged time. I do enjoy unplugged time. I embrace it just as I do when I can be plugged in again.
Ok that’s not really the point of the post today, I have gone off on a tangent. Really I was going to reflect on this upcoming week. It’s going to be a doozy and I kept thinking that if I didn’t have my phone I would forget everything that needs to be done. Today we have to call the car mechanic again. This really pisses me off. Friday they replaced the brakes and 3 belts. There is a horrid screeching sound coming from the hood whenever I start the car and whenever it tries to shift. Yesterday it was struggling to shift. I don’t think the subordinates over there are actually doing their job, I am pretty dang sure that a belt wasn’t replaced or wasn’t put on properly. In addition to that we are going to DMV to transfer car in my name (but not before the mechanic fixes it!). Then the hubs has to go to Driver’s License Office to get a license that he hasn’t renewed in 2 years. I informed him that he was not permitted to drive my car without one and he has clients he visits on Tuesdays.
Other things I need to do are some grocery shopping and call a lady about poledancing classes. Yep, gonna take a stab at it. Not so much because I want to be a stripper superstar or install a pole in the bedroom. More just so that I can say I know how to do it. Perhaps it will motivate me to lose the belly fat. We shall see.
Oh and my mother in law found a great shop in town, it’s called Dickie’s Half Priced Foods. I don’t think the name is accurate but whatever, it’s a blessing! Basically when restaurants and stores get their trucks in they are supposed to check the stock. If there is anything that they reject it doesn’t get trashed. And why they reject the items are for a wide variety of reasons. Some won’t accept a ripped or smashed case, even though over half the items inside the case may be in good shape. Anywho the rejected stuff goes to another warehouse until their is a full truckload. Then twice a week the stuff goes to Dickies. It’s a hole in a wall kind of shop that is set way back on this one lane road. And it’s not a clean shop. They get a truck in every Wednesday and Friday. I recently went in Saturday morning after my mother in law made a visit. Oh. Em. Gee. I had to do some digging around but I found alot of stuff. I got a box of sunflower seeds, two drink mixes for martinis, 10 packages of season packets (marinades, chili mixes, etc), 2 containers of Emeril’s organic veggie stock, some taco shells, a box of whole wheat organic rotini, a bag of organic pasta shells (i forget which whole grain type),a can of black beans, some balsamic garlic sauce, and two boxes of TLC organic crackers. This filled up 3 grocery bags. All for $10. Yea, $10! Had I bought this stuff in the store it would have been close to $40 and nothing was wrong with any of it. And that was just one side of the store. I went just to see what they had, not really shop. The cans are dented but if you look hard enough you can find undented cans. They have produce. They have cleaning supplies. They have huge 10lb blocks of cheese, sides of beef, frozen pies, chicken patties, and turkeys. Seriously, I am going back next Saturday!
So that is what is exciting me this week, how about you?
