It’s Friday. Ironically, since I am now home almost all the time, Friday has lost it’s luster. I used to love Friday. Now it’s another day lol. There is some prep to be done for the weekend. I have to redo the lesson plans I have worked so hard on and it’s not going to be easy. Our start date is Aug 1 as an official homeschool. Speaking of, I haven’t gotten anything from the state yet. A wee bit anxious for that because I need to notify the school ASAP that the girls’ won’t be back.
Today I am taking the kids to the library for some reading event they have coming up. They are doing the summer reading program and working for a free book. All of them are thrilled about it. I am too, much better than the free pizza program at the school. That was something I didn’t understand. We often hear and complain about obesity in the US, especially childhood obesity. Then some schools reward kids for reading with Pizza Hut? Granted it’s not that often, they did pizza prizes every quarter but wouldn’t it make more sense to give a book to the kids who are doing well with the reading programs? With my own, I want to devise a reading program that does that. Maybe give them a gift card to Mr. K’s Used Book Store so they can go and pick out what book they want. Yea, I am liking that idea.
Also today I have to call the city to see if I can rent a gazebo next Saturday afternoon for a birthday party. Kyle turns 42 on Friday and lil man will be 5. *sigh* growing so fast. I am not sure how many people will be coming. We are doing a light snacking type party. Cheese & Crackers,pretzels, cake, drinks, maybe some ants on a log. I definetly want to get a pinata, that was a huge hit last year.
Well some laundry is hollering at me and I need to get people up and moving. We have slacked the last couple of days and the house is looking gross. I really need to get my calendar straightened up and get the dam phone to go back to notifying me of what I should be doing. Might have to print up an actual daily schedule to put on the fridge lol.
