Hectic and Loving it!

Yesterday was crazy busy. I slept in a bit too late. I needed to go to my office in the morning and get some work done before meeting not from town friends for lunch. I first went to the store to pick up items for the potluck that evening. I made it to my office but only for a short period of time. Lunch was fun, we laughed sooooo hard. Then it turned into an excursion for ice cream. I love ice cream. A lot. Almost too much. So I took them to the best place in town, The Hop. I swear we were there 2 hrs just laughing off the sugar. I was supposed to go to KMart on the way home for a small gas can and school supplies (it’s tax free weekend here). LOL That didn’t happen! It was all good though, I ran home to get kids and got to our public Lughnasadh Ritual. I had carefully discussed with the kids night before about their behavior before hand. I sang in the choir so I couldn’t stand with the girls in circle. Alex had to stay with me because if he thinks I am not looking when girls’ are in charge he will pull a lot of crap. Fortunately they were all pretty good. I had to give the evil mom glare just once to the girls and remind Alex to hush twice. After the rite we had a potluck and I got a chance to have a talk with HP.

Awhile back she had asked me to consider joining the Temple Council. I had thought about it a lot and had one concern. The Temple is for Goddess worship only. Even the rites don’t really cover the God aspect. Sure he may be mentioned but we don’t honor him. That’s all fine and dandy but at home I strive for more duality. So I was more concerned that if people found out I wasn’t Dianic they would be concerned. So we got a chance to talk about it and I come to find out some members of Council are dualists. So for them it’s not an issue because HP views it as a voice for other pagans in our community that aren’t Dianic. So with that fear being pushed aside I am now proud to say I am a Temple Council Member. I am excited to be a part of this project. The Temple is something I am really wanting to see built. All over we have churches devoted to the patriarch, now I will be working to bring the matriarch into our town. Imagine how wonderful that would be to allow the pagans, who still fear being “out”, a place they can come by at any time and meditate or pray or just sit and revel in a holy space just for them! So yes, I am very excited. I have to admit I am a bit surprised that I have come to this place. I had assumed I would always be solitary in the very literal sense of the word. Even just going to public rite seemed a bit odd for me because I had been so very private for so long. And here I am a year and a half later feeling the urge to be more outspoken amongst my own brethren. Not sure what exactly changed but I am going with it.

Anywho it was eventful day and I foresee some exciting things ahead. I just got my info packet from Weiser Books. I am about to do some book reviews for them and I am VERY excited about having that opportunity. Ok, I must go…..hubs ordered The Crazies and I cannot wait to see it.
