Spring Cleaning

It’s Spring Break and as usual, this means I get to stay home during the day with the kids. Having 3 of them to entertain can be a daunting deal unless your smart about it. We have been doing some deep cleaning this week. Not a rigid schedule, we have tackled a room (or rooms) per day. Monday was the living room & the kids rooms. Tuesday was the dining room. Today was the kitchen. Tomorrow will be bathrooms (we have 3). And Friday will be the porch while I tackle our bedroom. Initially my children balked at this plan. I heard “But mom, Spring Break is a break from work. It’s a VACATION”. I calmly reminded them that it was a break from school work and a vacation from school.

The kids have chipped in with minimal complaint. With 4 of us tackling a room, the jobs seem smaller and less daunting. So we only spend about 4 hours getting chores done. After that they are free to watch toons on Netflix or play on the computer. Usually they head outside and by 8 pm they are so wore out they are ready for bed.

It’s exhausting for me though because I still have to go to work once the hubs gets home. So I am up and moving pretty much all day long and my back has been screaming at me for it.

This weekend we are planning spending some time with friends. I am hoping to get in a nap or two over the weekend but I will probably have to work.

How are y’all spending this week?

Oh I don’t envy you of that spring cleaning but on the bright side, at least you had help. Hope you enjoyed it! :)

I’m spending it at work- we don’t get vacations. I’m glad you’re feeling like yours is worthwhile though. Even if it isn’t time off, it’s time well spent.

I suppose I should clarify- we don’t get vacations unless we save up leave, get permission, and THEN take time off. lol, what a mess.

Dear lady I will be in your state, albeit the wrong end. We spend Easter on the Outer Banks with family and it’s totally worth the 8hr drive.
