Sometimes when I am in meetings and gatherings, my mind notices the most oddest of things. At one event I became fascinated with how people talked. Not the words they used or accents but how their actual lips and mouths moved. I never really noticed it before but everyone has a different physical way of talking. I noticed one person only had their bottom lip moving to form words. I was utterly entranced by the fact that their top lip really never moved. And yet another used their lips heavily. Some people didn’t move their jaws much but then others opened and closed their jaws like crazy.

I don’t know why this was so important for me to notice. I know it’s hard for me to focus (and stay focused) sometimes but this particular day it was a battle I lost.
