The Case Of The Blahs
I haven’t blogged much lately because I have had all sorts of crap going down and it was all in the middle of Mercury in Retrograde. In short, I have had writer’s block. And I have had it in a bad sort of way. I struggled with an essay for my Clergy meeting for well over 2 weeks and I just didn’t even know what to write over here. Communications went sour at the same time. And in the middle of all of that, I got to where I felt hatred towards my community, people who call themselves “liberal” (but have all the same tactics as the far right conservatives), and what I deemed idiocy. I still feel a need to separate myself from that “liberal” label, I still feel that need to walk away from the internet when people latch on to something and run with it in a very unhealthy way. So my involvement online will change because I find the online community to be purposefully self-sabotaging and crazy. I got my own crazy to deal with. I would rather deal with my local community when the online community goes on their weekly witch hunts.
I do have one word about the Chick-Fil-A debacle. I don’t care if you are choosing to not eat there or if you are. I DO care when liberals show up and shout vulgarities and spit on employees. Some of those employees are gay and they aren’t wearing a pin that says “I am gay, please be nice to me”. Some of those employees don’t agree with Mr. Cathy but they need their fucking jobs. Chick-Fil-A is OLD fucking news. The media shared how they donated their money 2 fucking years ago and not a damned person had anything to say about it then. Not until a man exercised his RIGHT to express his feelings about how he donates his money. But once again, that media is dangling the shiny in front of a bunch of gullible people who want to jump on any popular witch hunt going on that week. I get it if that was the first time you heard it…..but Chick-Fil-A is not the problem. Demanding that someone lose their business because their beliefs don’t match yours is HYPOCRITICAL and is just as dangerous as the right winged conservatives who want a theocracy. You take away that man’s right to “Life, Liberty, and Pursuit of Happiness” and you don’t deserve rights yourselves. Laws are what need to be changed. That man’s mind won’t be changed with people screaming on the internet and bigots arriving by the busload to buy his sandwiches.
You want to change the world, both sides of the coin need to sit down and talk. All the screaming and rally of the bigots did nothing but help that man line his pockets more.

Sorry Angela, I hope it gets better for ya. For the record, I agree on your Chick-fil piece. It’s not the employees fault. There is too much ignorance in our world today.

Love the post, and your stance on Chik-Fila. I wish the same people who protest the business also consider every last business they deal with because they are likely giving their money to businesses that are not ‘ethical’ in their eyes either.
I’m pro-gay rights/marriage/adoption/etc, but I’m not pro-be-an-ass-to-others. Love the post!
