Herbs for Sabbats
Use these as a decoration, around the circle, or make incenses to burn.
Samhain – chrysanthemum, wormwood, apple, pears, hazel, thistle, pomegranate, all grains, harvested fruits and nuts, pumpkin, or corn.
Yule - holly, mistletoe (poisonous, be wary of using if you have pets or children!), ivy, cedar, bay, juniper, rosemary, pine.
Imbolc - snowdrop, rowan, the first flower of the year
Ostara – daffodils, woodruff, violet, gorse, olive, peony, iris, narcissus, all spring flowers
Beltane - hawthorn, honeysuckle, St John’s wort, woodruff, all flowers
Midsummer – mugwort, vervain, chamomile, rose, lily, oak, lavender, ivy, yarrow, fern, elder, wild thyme, daisy, carnation.
Lammas – all grains, grapes, heather, blackberries, sloe, crab apples, pears
Mabon – hazel, corn, aspen, acorns, oak springs, autumn leaves, wheat stalks, cypress cones, harvest gleanings.
