Offering Stones

Offering Stones are a great way to fulfill your kitchen witchery needs, appeal to the gods, and entertain your kids (if you have them) all at once. Offering Stones can be done at any time of the year. I particularly enjoy doing them at the early Spring rites; Imbolc and Ostara.

It is VERY important that you use organic ingredients! The stones will break down over time and degrade into the Earth. Using something that has been processed and stripped of it’s natural properties could cause more damage.

Ingredients:

2 cups organic flour
2 cups warm spring water
1 cup sea salt
2 tbsp organic oil

Mix all ingredients and cook over a med-low heat. You want it to get to a playdough sort of texture. If it’s sticky, it needs to cook longer. Once cooked, roll into a stone and think about your wish, prayer, or intent. Let sit out until they get hard (usually a full day, depends on the humidity in your area). Bury in your yard (location of your choice) and thank Gaia.

If you wish you can add some natural dyes to pretty up your stones. You can also add some herbs to help with your particular spell, wish, prayer, or intent. Some suggestions:

Lemon Balm – for love, success, healing, sympathy
St. John’s Wort – protection
Echinacea – strengthen spellwork
Ginkgo – aphrodisia
Ginseng – love, wishes, healing, beauty, protection, lust
